ABSTRACT

Theory change requires an alternative theoretical-disposition accessible to evaluation. A
credible theoretical-disposition, one consistent with the bare evidence; a credible
interpretation measured against the imprecise standards of simplicity, coherence, utility, and
extensibility. And both evaluation and change demand engagement, listening, and
dispassionate reflection; a process thoroughly undermined by mindset and arrogance.
